Housing options

The Housing Options service provides information and support to people whose homes are no longer meeting their needs and would like support to explore their housing options, including adaptations to existing properties. This service would be of benefit to people who:

  • Have decided to move or need to for some reason and require support to achieve this.
  • Have a range of support needs which could be met by identifying and accessing additional at-home services including adaptations to their existing property.
  • Wish to gather information now to be able to plan for the future

The types of work we will undertake includes (but is not limited to)

  • Telephone advice, signposting and provision of information sheets
  • Housing and Support assessment
  • Assistance with form filling (housing and support services)
  • Registering applications on HomeChoice
  • Liaising with estate agents and solicitors
  • Identifying and collating personal documents relating to the property and finance
  • Practicalities of downsizing, (what to keep and how best to dispose of unwanted possessions)
  • Arranging removals service, liaison with care and medical equipment providers, utility switching

The Housing Options service is available to people in all housing tenures who live in Bristol
